Okay, I’ll admit it. I am a total cheaterpants on this one. Last week I was able to score ready made cookie mix and Hershey’s Kisses for super cheap and so I took the easy way out and used a mix for these cookies. 🙂
But… If you want to make peanut butter blossoms from scratch, below is a recipe from the Betty Crocker Website.
- 1/2cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda {15 Cool Uses for Baking Soda}
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Additional granulated sugar (about 2 tablespoons)
- About 7 dozen Hershey’s® Kisses® Brand milk chocolates
- 1 Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, beat 1/2 cup granulated sugar, the brown sugar, peanut butter, butter and eggs with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour, baking soda and baking powder.
- 2 Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in additional granulated sugar. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- 3 Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are light brown. Immediately press 1 chocolate candy in center of each cookie. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.

I just made 4 dozen of these this morning for a cookie exchange party this afternoon…very yummy. I too took advantage of the Albertson’s deal on the cookie mix and kisses…but decided to donate the mixes (but definitely kept the free Kisses!). Thanks for your 12 days of cookie recipes blogs ~ it’s been fun to read.

I let each family member choose a Christmas cookie for us to make and these were Sam’s choice. I LOVE the peanut butter and chocolate flavor combo:-).
