I’m not sure if you’ve ever noticed, but I make a lot of recipes that involve cranberries. I’m a pretty big cranberry fan. Right now, you can find sales on those delicious berries everywhere. But when they aren’t in season, I just buy ’em dried in bulk from Amazon. Traverse Bay Fruit Co. Dried Cranberries are freakin awesome. Dried or fresh cranberries in a recipe typically means I’ll love it.

Cranberry ice is a family favorite and tradition for the holidays. We switch it up some years and add wine for some of the water or add orange juice for some of the lemon juice. This could be made in an ice cream maker for smoother consistency but we don’t. We don’t put the vanilla in like this recipe does but I may give that a try this year. http://www.bostonglobe.com/lifestyle/food-dining/2013/11/26/recipe-for-cranberry-ice/hi4RuwSCcysUCEjAHxU9DO/story.html

My mom uses thyme (for tarragon), red onion (for green), no vinegar and adds pistachios to her cranberry chicken salad. That stuff is sooo dang good I can eat a whole bowl with saltines in one sitting!

I use dried cranberries instead of raisins in carrot salad (carrots, cranberries & olive oil or mayo). Yum!

Great idea. I love carrot salad too–I’ll definitely use cranberries next time I make it.
