I just went outside to water the pallet gardens and had to do a double take. Holy crap! What on earth just ate my plants?

Oh no! Looks just like when my rabbits got to my strawberries. I love the flour idea! I hope you find the culprit(s) soon!

That stinks. My strawberry pot go hit as well. I bought some “Wildlife Netting” for my garden bed after that happened. At least I found a berry farm about 15 minutes away.

looks like rabbits!
Holly says
The deer did that to mine a couple of years ago. Good Luck

The same thing happened to my strawberries. It was either deer or rabbits that ate mine. Both are always in my yard. The bunnies fit right through the holes in the chicken fencing around my garden, they dont touch the lettuce but demolished the snap peas, cabbage, carrots and sunchokes. The deer ate the only cherry off of our little cherry tree and made my daughter cry. I almost cried when I saw my strawberries, they look exactly like yours do there now.

Looks like deer to me. They are great at stripping leaves off anything they feel like eating. My fruit trees are wrapped in fencing but they got every single leaf that was sticking out the fencing more than one inch. UGH!

If it were my yard, I’d say moose…but that would be very unlikely in Washington…so I vote deer.
Lisa says
My strawberries have all been eaten too, but by chipmunks. They eat the berries and leave the leaves on. So, I’m voting for deer since they ate the leaves and not the berries.
Mavis says
We have had problems with berry stealing chipmunks too. But they are sooo cute. It’s hard to get mad at them. lol

I recognize the telltale signs of deer. We have our share of them here, too.

Probably rabbits or deer…
My husband and I have a pet deer (you can literally pet her until she kicks you) that eats EVERYTHING out of our gardens. We and the Cowboy raised her since she was a fawn and her mom was killed by coyotes. Nothing works… She’s not afraid of anything and when we tried to haul her off she jumped out of a ten foot cattle trailer without grazing any part of it. Boy is she a pest…. 😮
Didn’t realize I was ranting…. sorry.
Lisa says
Deer. A spray of putrefied egg white and garlic will keep them at bay. Spray it around the perimeter and not on the actual plant. It keeps away deer and rabbit. Another option is to send the handsome husband or monkey boy out to… mark their “territory.”

I HATE when that happens. My chickens (who are usually very good) just did the same thing to my brussel sprouts. Demolished them.

Looks like what the deer have done to my kale, lettuce, tomatoes and roses. They even snatched the first four ripe blueberries of the season. I’m feeling more and more like Mr. McGregor everyday, chasing away any deer I see on my land! Haha

Anybody have any good ideas of how to keep the squirrels away from your berries? They love to steal them and then only eat half – which is so much more annoying than if they ate the whole thing!
LisaB says
Have you tried bird netting material? I don’t have a squirrel issue but I have birdnetting and if it works against birds…
