Aren’t you glad back to school shopping is over. If I have to walk into another store selling ripped jeans or paper thin t-shirts, I think I’m going to pass out. I seriously despise the mall. Seriously, who pays good money for jeans with holes in them? It’s weird. Plus it smells there.
At least when I buy groceries I don’t have to walk past a bunch of teenagers who have doused themselves with an entire bottle of perfume or boys who wash their clothes in AXE shower gel.
It’s official, I’m getting old.
Here is what I purchased last week.
Albertsons $5.34
You can still do this deal! Head on HERE to see how I did this.
Albertsons $7.67
I had a bunch of Albertson’s Summer Sizzling Sweepstakes tickets to redeem and was able to pick up 6 free doughnuts {Monkey Boy was over the moon}. I paid $2.59 for each gallon of milk and a whopping $2.49 for 3 granny smith apples because I really, really, really wanted to make a batch of apple pie jam. I’m happy to report it was totally worth it!
Albertsons $1.99
I earned a $5 off coupon after I redeemed by Albertsons tickets and was able to pick up a bag of frozen chicken for only $1.99 after the discount.
I redeemed some Swagbucks for a $25 Papa Johns Gift card. The Girl and the HH were both gone so I let Monkey Boy have BOTH of the pizzas!
Barter with Mrs. Hillbilly $0
I traded some fresh produce and salmon for bison meat.
Dove chocolate for beets? Hmm, I think I got ripped off.
QFC $5.98
I picked up 2 packages of cream cheese @ $1 each for The Girl Who Thinks She’s a Bird’s so she could have it on her bagels. I was out of butter, so I paid $1.99 per pound. Hopefully there will be some sweet deals on butter before I run out again.
So all in all not a bad week.

No, I can say I did not purchase any ripped jeans. But I did buy some leggings for my 8 year old, who I am having a hard time convincing that she can.not.by.any.means wear without a skirt over them, or a tunic top……why the tight as tight can be pants are in style in the 3rd grade, I will never know.
BTW, you did amazing with your shopping and bartering. I found your site this past week and I love it. I went to the nursery and bought about 10 fall veggie plants that I am going to plant today. And I am going to buy some fruit trees that I am SO excited about. I want cherry, and plum and apple!! The nursery that I went to did not have any fruit trees at all, but offered me some advice I feel good about because she had nothing to sell me. But she said the fruit trees would do well planting them now, here in Virginia.

I agree…I HATE the mall! I especially hate the loud thumping music that these stores play. Yes… I must be old too!

Be sure to check out the Freddy’s coupon this week for 1/2 gallon of milk for $1. They have the papers at the store at the front door if you don’t get a newspaper.
Mavis says
Thanks Heidi! I wasn’t going to bother looking for papers because there are no coupons! Thanks for the tip. I’ll have to grab Monkey Boy a 1/2 gallon of chocolate milk when I get the others. 🙂

Not only did I buy torn jeans, I purchased my daughter torn “Jeggings” a cross between leggings and jeans from American Eagle. And to add insult to injury the torn Jeggings were more expensive then the regular ones. Good thing I coupon to save money.
Mavis says
Jeggings are the worst ever. LOL. At least in the 80’s we had tapered jeans. American Eagle’s clothing is good quality though, so I don’t mind paying a bit extra for their stuff. Hopefully you are signed up for their rewards program. I like to get The Girl a few gift cards to AE when Albertsons does their gift card deals.

I took the $2 off Snap Lock from a couple of Sundays ago to Fred Meyer. Today they have all the Glass Lock by Snap Lock refrigerator type dishes 50% off. This makes the smaller glass containers $1, and their featured 22 piece refrigerator set from today’s paper $5.99, reg. $14.99. Usefuol sizes.
Helen in Meridian says
oOOPS, my fingers stuttered. They should have typed a 4 pc refrigerator set, not a 22 piece, for $7.99 minus $2 coupon.
