I headed out to Albertsons pretty early this morning so I could stock up on free peppers, and a sweet treat {Nutella} for my daughter. So I think I am missing something crucial in understanding your Albertson’s shopping trips. Are you only allowed to use a certain number of double coupons per transaction?
And for the Mt. Olive products, do you get at least six Sunday papers?
Lorri F says
Michele-
You can use 3 doublers per transactions and you can do 3 Back to Back transactions.
Some people bring a buddy to get more trasactions. I refuse to take my kids with me, so I do my 3 take everything out to the car and go back for my 2nd set of 3.

I didn’t see anything great to get at Albies. And didn’t get the same coupons you did. So this weekend was easy breezy. I got another cranberries coupon so I’ll go get those at some point this week. Oh, and 2 of the soy sauces too. But nothing terribly exciting. NUTELLA – mmmmm…….

I had an awesome day at Albertson’s. I always do my weekly grocery shopping on Sunday mornings so I got up as usual and headed out. Usually I’m very well planned out but today I was not due to my daughter coming home from college last night. Along with my first three doubler transactions which looked very similar to what Mavis purchased I added $100. in gift cards per transactions. Luckily I was making a large christmas purchase at the participating store so I score when I received 3- $20. off your next shopping trip cats. Can we all say woo hoo!
I returned home and began thinking about all of the butterball turkey deals and put together another round of doublers to go with them. I spent less then $8. I broke it into 3 transactions and incorporated a $20 cat from purchasing the gift cards earlier and received $32. more in cats to use later. I made out like a bandit.
This is what I purchased:
3 FRESH butterball Turkeys Approx. $18. each – Used $3 Butterball turkey wyb 4 participating products(coupons.com) & $3 off a fresh turkey from the Albertson’s weekly circular
2 packages of Pillsbury cresent rolls- Used $1.89 each .40/2 ss 11/18
12 cans of Nestle evaporated milk $1 each- .50/2
10 cans of Green giant canned veggies $1 each (this was a last minute substitution so I don’t know if there were any coupons available.
2 cans Alberston’s essentials beans – $1/1 ss 11/18
1 packet of Albertson’s essentials stew mix – $1/1 ss 11/18
20 powerades (for a school fundraiser) .50 each -Buy 10 in one transaction get a $2. cat.

And 1- 5lb bag of potatoes – 1.98 or 2.99. I can’t remember because my receipt didn’t print from my 1st transaction.

Awesome!

I did 2 rounds of doublers and I got:
* 4 cans green beans
* 4 steam fresh frozen veg
* 2 coffee creamer
* 2 boxes triscuits
I had a $2 cat so my total oop was just over $4

This morning there were 4 episodes of Made Men on so I got a late start and got to the store after 10AM…WAY too many people in the store at that time. I did a deal from the back of the ad and thought, “Hmmm my math was off by about $5” then later realized that the PowerAde filler I had ended up scanned on another transaction. So much Don Draper had me off my game I guess.
I did find alot of Garnier Fructis shampoo and styling stuff on clearance so keep your eyes open for those if you have some of the .75 off one or 1.50 off 2 printables from awhile back.

I had a little big bigger trip than normal, but I got turkeys and am still under my weekly $25 budget, so I’m pretty durn happy!
Spent $20.01, got:
1 Honeysuckle whole turkey 15lb
1 Butterball 3lb turkey breast roast
4 carnation evaporated milk
10lbs yams
12 bags Beggin Strips (I work at a vet hospital, so these will be treats for sad sick dogs!) (don’t worry, the shelves were FULL, no clearing here!)
1 Sara Lee cheesecake
1 Dawn dishsoap
1 Albertsons paper towels
2 Marachuan noodles (raincheck)
2 Crunch bars
2 Lindsay olives
1 Mt. Olive roasted red peppers
Even better, I somehow found ROOM in my tiny chest freezer for a 15 lb turkey! This was an awesome deal, and I have one more set of doublers. Wish I had more freezer space, I’d do Heidi’s turkey deal! Might do another Butterball 3lb + 4 evaporated milks + an onion (~$0.51) and use (2) 0.50/2 + my last $0.75 catalina from last week + $10 cat from today + a $2 off $15 catalina from last week to = ZERO oop and get another $10 catalina.

Curious what you will use the jalapeños for. I canned a bunch of pickled jalapeños from my garden this year, but have no clue what to use them for.
Mavis says
We cook a lot of Mexican food, so I chop them up and add then in. 🙂

What am I missing out on. Do all Albertson stores double coupons on Sunday?
LOVE your advise and tips.
Mavis says
Typically there are Albertsons double coupons here in the northwest region every other Sunday. But we’ve had them 3 weeks in a row now! 🙂
