Every month more than 40,000 people check in to see what ‘s happening on The Hen Cam at Terri Golson’s farm. If you are thinking about getting a flock of birds you may want to bookmark her site. There is also a barn cam and a goat cam. I have found the best time to view is early in the morning before the hens are let out.
Awesome stuff!

Hi, thanks for the mention! Just wanted to let you know that I have about 40,000 unique visitors a month. Not quite as many as you said, but I’d be happy to more 🙂 I’ve kept backyard hens for almost 20 years, and so do provide a lot of sane advice for small flock keepers.

Any advice on a brand of camera to use? Because of Mavis and her inspirational blog,I have 18 baby chicks under lights and currently building a coop to make the other chickens around here jealous 🙂 My boys have been watching the hen & goat camera live feeds and think its better than watching the TV or playing video games! I really want them to get excited about ours and the raised beds that we are planning to build and prep in the next two weeks…….Fingers crossed

Check my FAQ page at hencam.com – there’s one about how we do the cams. It’s expensive. Each cam cost $500. BUT, the cams that we used are no longer made, and since the Gems just knocked their cam down, I’ll be buying a new one. Don’t know what model yet.

Mavis, we love our chicken cam! When we moved our girls from the house to the barn, my geeky husband installed the cameras (separation anxiety). It’s a hoot to watch them after they’re closed up for the night, especially when they’re lined up on the roost asleep.
I love your blog, have picked up many helpful ideas and good deals!
