I thought I would repost this clever tip for those of you who didn’t see it the first time around.
If you are like me you probably have a bunch seed packets scattered all over the place {or you soon will!}. I like to place my empty seed packets in a mini photo album I found at the dollar store. The albums 4×6 inch pockets can accommodate practically any size packet and the photo album fits nice on a shelf for easy storage.
I don’t know about you, but I find myself find myself checking the back of my seed packets from time to time to make sure I planted everything right and that the germination process is on schedule so I like to keep them around instead of tossing them. How about YOU? Do you toss you seed packets or keep them. ~Mavis

Mine are in a zippie bag. But this is definitely a better idea!

I use the empty box that came with a set of canning half-pint jars and stand my seed-packets up so I can “flip”through them. This allows me to group them by type and season and since I rarely use all of the seeds in a packet at once, this stops them from spilling all over.

I keep mine in a little shoe box, standing up in alphabetical order. I don’t have a whole bunch yet – I could see sorting them by category if the list gets too long.

WONDERFUL,wonderful idea !!!!! Thank-you Mavis 🙂
I do keep my empties for sharing seeds with friends, family and I recently started trading with other members of a garden group I belong to online .
I tape the name of the seeds I’m sharing over what was in the empty seed pack.
Now to go find a photo album
So enjoy reading your blog

I picked up 2 of the phote albums at the Dollar Store last year when you suggested this. LOVE being able to flip through to look at the seeds!
I did have to put a rubber band around to keep it closed b/c it gets THICK when full.
The photo albums are awesome, too! They have life-like flowers on the front and back.

I tried doing this with the photo album. Now the photo album won’t close because it’s too thick! Kind of like one of those funny Pinterest spoofs “Nailed it!” LOL! The packets aren’t going to get lost, but I won’t be displaying them, either…..
