Backyard Garden Plot Pictures – Week 26 of 52
We worked on lot’s of “little projects” in the garden this week. We transplanted zucchini along the fence for the millionth time, pulled weeds and tried to defend our garden from those awful slimy slugs as best we could.
We also harvested the last of the spring spinach and planted a few zucchini seeds in its place. I haven’t had to many slug problems with the pallet garden so hopefully our chances of growing zucchini in pallets will work out. Nothing is guaranteed when it comes to gardening though so we shall see. The beans we planted are also starting to pop up as well.
The green beans, potatoes and corn are looking great. We even harvested a few heads of cabbage too!. Stay tuned for some yummy recipes.
The sugar snap peas are on their last leg. I think we’ll get one more harvest out of them and then go ahead and pull up the vines and plant some Kentucky pole beans in their place.
The tomatoes, basil, chard, cucumbers, strawberries and peppers we have growing in the greenhouse are looking great. I’ll post some more pictures in a day or two.
And the potato towers. Check them out! Let me know if you want me to post some close-ups.
The green arrow pea patch is doing awesome! I can wait to start bribing the Girl Who Thinks She’s a Bird to shell peas again. {Secretly I think she likes doing it though.}
A view from the back deck.
If you squint really, really hard you’ll be able to see little green leaves on about 80% of the pumpkin mounds.
The raspberry patch. Alive and kicking. I already know what I’ll be doing with all my berries. 😉
And last but not least, the container herb garden. I need to get out there and harvest so herbs pronto!
Well that’s what’s growing in my garden these days, what growing in yours?

Your garden is so lovely! I really love your blog! I’m glad you share your failures too (darn zucchinis); makes me feel less pitiful that I’ve planted carrot seeds three times now and still don’t have any carrots to show for it! You win some, you lose some.

I have read about your slug problem and we have them in our strawberry patch. (we picked 20 gallon so far I am so excited.)farmerbob donated a can of beer and I poured it into 2 bowls and set them down the rows. the slugs like beer and climb in for a drink and don’t climb out. I didn’t believe it til I saw it. i’m sure we didn’t get them all but we got a lot.it was worth a try.
