I just. can’t. stop. Giving away my favorite things to my favorite readers has become one of my new favorite pastimes. And you guys get to reap all the benefits of that with this epic “favorite things” giveaway. It’s a hodgepodge of my favorite things compiled into one super duper giveaway. You’re gonna want to win this. It’s a prize pack full of awesome:
1. The Year-Round Vegetable Gardener: This book is the bomb diggity for any gardener at any level in any climate during any time of year. She knows her stuff and the book is full of totally useful techniques and tips.
2. Moleskine Passion Garden Journal: I know not everyone has a handy dandy blog to record all of their gardening info. This journal is perfect for keeping track of planting, drawing out garden grids, or jotting down ideas and tips. It’s pretty and high quality too. Double bonus!
3. Hutzler 571 Banana Slicer: If you need any advise or guidance on how to use this produce, refer to the reviews on Amazon. In fact, even if you don’t need guidance or advice, check out the reviews anyway. They’ll totally make your day for sure.
4. {2} $5 Starbucks Gift Cards: One for you and one for a friend. It’s all about spreading the coffee {or tea} love!
5. Badger Balm for Gardeners: This stuff is the “balm!” Haha. Seriously though, with how overworked a gardener’s hands can get, this stuff is the perfect solution!
6. Chocolove Cherries & Almonds in Dark Chocolate Bar: Don’t hate me for ruining your New Year’s Resolution, just trust me when I say it’ll be worth every last bite. Yum!
7. Bob’s Red Mill Pancake & Waffle Mix: If you’re not going to make your own, this is absolutely the next best thing. My whole family gives it 2 thumbs up.
8. {10} Reusable Produce Bags: I love these bags! I always bring my reusable grocery bags when shopping, but get annoyed with all the plastic produce bags that go to waste. Problem solved. Plus, they come in lots of different sizes and I can wash and reuse over and over.
9. Steel Rails CD – The Baker Family: I heard this family play at the National Heirloom Festival and they were great. The CD is awesome too!
10. Nothing Without You Magnet: If you’re tired of the lame-o flimsy Joe’s Plumbing Shop or other advertising magnets currently keeping your kids’ masterpieces stuck on the fridge, you’ll love these heavy duty fridge magnets. They’re adorable and the quotes rock.
11. Botanical Interests Seed Sprouter: If you’re a sprouter, are thinking about becoming a sprouter or have a sprouter loved one, you need this sprouter in your life. Trust me. It’s amazing.
12. Alfalfa Sprouts: Speaking of sprouts, this variety is so tasty.
13. Broccoli Sprouts: As is this one…
14. Sandwich Sprouts: And this one.
15. Sip Sip Hooray Pink Paper Drinking Straws: Sometimes I’ll throw these in my kids’ smoothies so they think it’s a party in a glass. Cause these straws totally have that effect.
So how do you enter for your chance to win all these goodies? Just simply leave a comment below telling me which of my favorite things you’d be most excited about if you were the winner of all this loot! And no one will judge you when you say the Banana Slicer! 😉
Just answer that one question and you’re entered to win. Life’s pretty complicated sometimes, so I like to keep things simple around here.

I’d like to say the sprouter because that would be the healthy responsible sounding choice (and it us my runner up), but the one I’d be the most excited about is the Sip Sip Hooray paper straws. I remember when I was a girl in school desperately trying to get my paper straw through the tiny half punched, half scraped out hole in my little carton chocolate milk without bending it in half. The next challenge was finishing my chocolate milk without collapsing the paper straw. :0)

Rita Kerr says
I’m thrilled that so many of your friends are choosing the Botanical Interests Seed Sprouter. Our sprouted seeds are DELICIOUS!! We discover ways to eat these nutritious delights at almost every meal. My choice will have to be the Badger Balm for Gardeners. I have two reasons for my choice. As a breast cancer survivor with problems with lymphedema in my arm, I have to make sure my cuticles are kept moist to resist hang-nails, leading to infection and a couple weeks of antibiotic therapy. My number one reason would be for my hubby. He works so hard in our garden year round, assisting me in any way I ask. He is such a dear and fights chapped hands from all the chores he does for us during these cold winter months. I have a feeling Badger Balm will be The Bomb! Thanks for your generosity, Mavis.

I would love to have the garden journal! I’ve told myself every year at the end of the season for the last couple years that I would keep one. I’m always asking myself things like…how long did it take this or that to bloom? Did I have this problem last year? Did these darn japanese beetles hatch out this time last year? But every year I get so busy and get so caught up in the everyday gardening I just forget all about it. If I had a nice journal to start with I would keep it in the basket I tote around with me and definitely jot down notes!

Since we moved to Oregon I have been almost 100% in using totes whenever we go shopping at the farmers’ market or even the grocery store, but as you said, using these instead of the little plastic bags is awesome!!!

Jennifer Platnico says
I would be excited about all of the products, but the one I’ve been wanting to try the most is the seed sprouter. I have been a little leary about trying to sprout, but have wanted too for awhile. The reusable produce bags, I think are also pretty cool. They would come in handy when harvesting and not being to able to freeze or can the produce right away. I know I’m a dork! Its the little things in life, right? Lol 🙂 The Year Round Vegetable Gardner, is interesting. I’ve been trying to grow herbs in doors this winter, but winters in Alaska just do not provide enough sun light. Even with grow lights, they are suffering!!! Anyhow, thanks Mavis for being so generous to your readers, we love ya!
Sandra Smith says
I’d LOVE the Year Round Gardener! Four months ago I gave up processed foods and now eat tons of fruits and veggies. Any of these items would be wonderful, and I know it sounds a little bizarre…but my first choice would be the Badger Balm. Teckla says

You are too cool! Really enjoy your blog and find lots of good information.

Erin says
I would love the Botanical Interests Seed Sprouter. I am currently sprouting using old glass jars and pantyhose. My chickens love the daily treats, but I slack off on sprouting more for my family because it becomes a pain. An actual sprouter would solve that issue and we’d be enjoying tofu, grilled onion, avocado, tomato, spinach, and sprout sandwiches on homemade buns!
Lisa says
I must admit, I’m intrigued by the banana slicer.
Dena H says
I would love the Year around vegetable gardener! I would love to garden all year long even though it is going to be no degrees tomorrow! I love your variety of goodies! The banana slicer would be awesome to win! I can’t see me ever buying myself one!

Andy says
Definitely The Year-Round Vegetable Gardener. It combines my two favorite things…reading and gardening

The banana slicer may bring peace to my home. Nobody but me currently slices old bananas and puts them in the freezer instead of leaving them to rot, and I’ve had it, I tell you! I could be painting my toenails or peeling grapes instead of slicing bananas! With a banana slicer, the lazy slugs in my house will be so excited they will slice their own bananas!
Nichole says
The straws!
Deanna Herrera says
I have had my eye on the Botanical Interests Seed Sprouter since reading about it on your blog. I just placed my seed order last week, but due to my extreme frugality, I decided to not get it, and just get the 17 packages of seeds instead. The gardening book. I tried a winter garden for the first time this year, and don’t have the timing right. I found it tricky to work out how to both arrange and clean up after the summer garden – and have large enough areas to plant the winter garden. Plus, in Portland, we had unexpected sub-20 degrees F weather in December…everything seems to have died except a turnip, some parsnips, the garlic, and the onions.
Ann says
They all look great….but my hands take such a beating year round…I’ll say the Badger Balm sounds super helpful.
Cyndi D says
I’d love to try the sprouter!! Thanks.

They are all so awesome! If I have to pick just one, I love the REUSABLE PRODUCE BAGS. sharon says
Wow you make it tough to choose!! I will go with the seed sprouter 🙂

The Year Round Vegetable Gardener….I have decided that this is the year that I get serious with my garden. I am great at livestock, and have a ton (probably literally more than that!) of manure for my raised beds. I am quite the brown thumb, so a calendar guideline would probably be very helpful to me. My kids said that they would help me, and a couple of them are awesome green thumbs, so maybe all together, with a guide, we might have a garden that produces enough to freeze and can for winter.
Jamie J says

Starbucks! Oh my goodness it is sooooooo coooollldd here and their coffee would warm my toes my nose and my hands! And I would take my dear friend Violet and warm her insides as well ! I heart Starbucks so much that I have even applied there and still hoping to hear from them! Ah to smell coffee everyday like that would be as much joy as pulling up a luscious orange carrot for the first time in the gardening season! Ordinarily, I would be most jazzed about the garden goodies. But I live near Charleston, West Virginia, where we had a massive chemical leak into our water supply. Thirteen days later, and our water is supposedly safe to drink, but no one we know is drinking or cooking with it yet…including us. So, right now, I am most excited about the Starbucks gift card…and using it somewhere where the water HASN’T been contaminated! And treating my dear friend who recently moved back to the US to a cuppa tea, too!
Barb Crispens says
I’d love to try out the badger balm!! Thank you!
Lou Ann says
I’m most excited about the whole package! Seriously, cooking up some pancakes/waffles smothered in sliced bananas while listening to The Baker Family CD, planning the garden with the book and journal. Later, grabbing a friend and going for a Starbucks break and sharing the chocolate. Etc…. Thanks for the giveaway!
Joanna says

Definitely most excited about the book The Year-Round Vegetable Gardener. I’m a beginner gardener and have my first raised bed gardens planted, courtesy of my Dad (who has ALWAYS had a garden as far back as I can remember) as a combined house warming present (just bought our very own home!) and a 30th birthday present. Good luck to everybody who’s commented and congrats to whoever the winner is (keeping my fingers crossed, hah) of this fantastic looking give away!
