Did you know Seattle has the most book readers per capita out of any city in the U.S?
Well in case you haven’t heard, Amazon has gone physical. This week, they opened the first ever Amazon Bookstore right here in Seattle. The books are priced the same as they are on Amazon.com, and displayed so you can see the cover and relevant reviews from online. The store is even organized so that books are grouped together by their rating on Amazon.com.
The store’s focus is to offer books that other readers have loved. They will showcase the top sellers each weekend behind the sales counter. Obscure books that might not be best sellers, but that have high reviews will take their place among the shelves. It actually might be a pretty cool chance to see books with great reviews that you might have NEVER come across otherwise.
You all know that I personally LOVE Amazon. I’ll probably still prefer to have my items shipped to my door while I sit in my jammies and dream up twisted stories about the neighbors, but for those of you that love the physical-ness {that’s a totally a word} of a store, would you like to see an Amazon bookstore in your neck of the woods?

I just placed an order to Amazon, for a swimsuit and a cover up. I ordered one each for my MIL last week. I order almost exclusively from Amazon. It is my favorite online store. Hubby orders from eBay.

Yes! I would love one near me. I order from Amazon prime and now my husband loves it also. Wonderful!!!!! Most of the things I order are things I see on your site. Thank you so much, Mavis you ROCK!!!

Interesting, it fits the old adage “what’s old is new again.” Our family uses Amazon a lot, but, I really favor independent book stores. However, anything that gets people to pick up a book is awesome!

Kind of ironic that they have opened a bookstore ~ since so many bookstores closed around the country because of them 🙁

This is worlds colliding. When I go to a bookstore, I always check the reviews and price on Amazon (on my phone) before buying it. I guess it saves that step.
