One of the easiest ways to cut down on your grocery bill is to throw in a few meatless meals. You can still get some great protein without eating meat. But sometimes I get stuck in a pasta rut when I’m trying to go meatless. These 10 cookbooks will knock your socks off and do a pretty dang good job of trying to convert you to a meat-free life!
The $5 a Meal College Vegetarian: I bought this one for The Girl to take to college. Because I’m sure we can all remember when a $5 meal seemed like a luxury!
Forks Over Knives: It’s a book, it’s a film, it’s a movement. Have you seen the movie yet?
The French Market: This is my go-to vegetarian cookbook when I want to fancy it up. And it never disappoints.
The Italian Vegetarian: It’s not just pizza and pasta {although it is some of that, and those recipes are freakin amazing!}
Meatless: The pictures in this book are as mouthwatering as the food!
Plenty: 120 vegetarian recipes by my favorite London chef? Of course I’m going to own this book!
The Quick Fix Vegetarian: Because vegetarian or not, sometimes you only have a few minutes to throw together a healthy meal!
Salad Samurai: Sometimes salads can get so boring. Not anymore!
The Southern Vegetarian: If you love yourself some good ‘ol southern comfort food, this book is for you!The Vegetarian Bible: The title pretty much speaks for itself!

I have been a vegetarian for almost 10 years. Actually, I’m 90% vegan (no dairy, no eggs, no animal products at all) but I do eat cheese and yogurt occasionally. Anyway, you can’t go wrong with cookbooks by Robin Robertson (author of Quick Fix Vegetarian, shown above—she has tons of cookbooks) and Isa Chandra Moskowitz.

I’m vegan and find it’s pretty easy to eat anywhere. You just have to do a lot of reading. My favorite cookbook is Vegan Planet by Robin Robertson. Great recipes and pretty quick too.
