I am your typical housewife living in high maintenance suburbia. I have a handsome husband, 2 kids and a flock of pet chickens. I try and feed my family with $100 a month. With the help of coupons, gardening and bartering I am able to squeeze the most out of our grocery budget and still manage to have a little fun along the way.

Nice veggies, looks like your carrots and potatoes did really well this year. Is that what a squirrel does to a squash?.

I don’t know if it was Scott the Squirrel or one of the chickens. Hmmm… I need to set up a camera.

It’s great to see that growing your own food happens piece by piece…one moment at a time! I envy those carrots! 🙂

Makes me envy your nicer weather there. We have already froze here in Idaho a few times so my garden is nearly done. Only thing left is the carrots in the ground. I’m not sure what to do with them exactly. I still have 3/4 of a row…I way over grew them.
