A few weeks ago my Mother and The Girl Who Thinks She’s a Bird and I popped by Belle Bakery in Bellevue, Washington to check it out. My parents had been there before and thought the store might be a good one to add to our Save the Bakeries Tour.
The store was very busy when we stopped by {mid morning} with customers. The bakery cases were filled with pastries, scones and the usual fare. I would have taken pictures of the seating area but it would have been awkward. {Not like taking pictures of bakeries treats is normal or anything but you know what I mean.} ๐
The quiche…don’t those look delicious? What do you think they used as the mold for the crust? I could see making a huge batch of hand held quiches and freezing them for busy weeknights or for breakfast on the weekend.
The girl ordered a blueberry tart… and received a raspberry one instead. ๐ She said it looked so good she wasn’t going to bother telling the guy behind the counter he got her order wrong.
Spying a lemon tart in the case I of course had to order one. And although it didn’t compare to the lemon tart I gobbled up at Coyle’s Bakeshop in Seattle a few months ago, I still gave it an 8.5 out of 10. It was good… but just not OH MY GOODNESS this is the best freakin’ lemon tart on the planet I want to rub the filling all over my face why don’t they make this into a facial scrub so I can smell like a lemon tart all day kind of good.
This macaron tower would make a wonderful {fill in the blank} appreciation day gift, don’t you think? I wonder how long it would take me to eat 91 macarons?
Belle Bakery, if you are ever in the Bellevue area check it out!

You and your Mom look so much alike, you could be sisters. Both are beautiful!

Looks delicious!! I bet they use a mini springform pan to make that deep dish quiche.

I must be getting hungry ’cause I want to reach into the computer and grab that raspberry tart. Yum! And those quiche- amazing!

I agree that $16 for a jar of matches is totally insane!! I do keep my matches in a glass jar to prevent them from getting damp but it’s just a repurposed empty peanut butter jar. I really like your chicken coop. I’m thinking it would be perfect for letting my son’s Netherland Dwarf rabbits get outside for some sunshine and fresh air.

Have you thought anymore about making a Google Map where you could put the bakeries you’ve visited and your readers could put the ones they recommend in the rest of the US/world?

Belle Pastry is about a half mile from my house. I think it is a bit overrated, personally, but lots of people really love it. I prefer the croissants (my pastry of choice) at French Bakery. Belle just moved into that location and I think the dining area is a little spartan and not as homey as their old location across the street. Very popular spot. And, the only CVS in our area is in the same complex, so bonus!
Enjoying your bakery tours, especially when they are in my neck of the woods!
