Costco $29.94
I zipped into Costco for just the basics this week. fruit, veggies and milk. It’s amazing. Some weeks I totally want to take my time and check out all the new products, and other weeks I put blinders on and I’m in and out in of there in 5 minutes. The key to shipping at Costco is to GET OUT QUICK. Costco is not the store you want to be caught dawdling in. It will cost you BIG TIME if you do.
Amazon Subscribe and Save Deals $ Free {earned a free gift card via Swagbucks}
If you haven’t tried the Amazon Subscribe and Save program, you totally should. I love that I basically have several weeks to fill up my cart with deals before the items are shipped. That way, when I find a crazy good deal, I can add it to my subscriptions. I can also delete them before they ship if I change my mind too. 😉
Here are the deals I picked up this month {note: prices may have changed since I ordered these products}.

Dinner salads. I served a boatload of of them this week. Mostly because I’ve been busy in the garden and salads are easy peasy to make.
The Girl made two loaves of homemade egg bread. The loaves were just a wee bit over done so we used them to make baked french toast and it was fantastic! This was her first attempt at making bread all by herself and I think she did a fantastic job.
Costco chicken and apple breakfast weenies, eggs, spinach, black beans and chopped tomatoes. I can’t get enough of this stuff!
A modified version of this quinoa salad.
We also enjoyed homemade oatmeal cookies, chicken curry, chicken and rice soup and grilled cheese sandwiches this past week.
When in doubt, simple food is best!

Mavis, I just read the egg bread recipe and post, and you should think about taking a course or two at King Arthur Flour in Vermont. I took a five day professional bread baking course there and it was fantastic. Norwich, Vermont is in the New Hampshire border, too.

The Girl and I were scheduled to take one last winter but we had to cancel at the last minute. Maybe this year though. Did you eat in the cafe? Was it good?
Mrs. Chow says
Yes, it was good. The school feeds you lunch when you take an all day class, and the food is delicious. When you take a class there, you get a discount on products in the store. In the summer, there’s a farmer’s market up the road that has a lot of nice produce.

Our family makes challah bread quite often. The bread is supposed to be a deep golden brown. Great job on a first attempt at making bread!

I’ll have to check out Subscribe and Save.
But I have a question – so all that Amazon food you got with a gift card from Swagbucks?
I tried Swagbucks a couple of years ago. I have so say, it didn’t seem to be worth the time for me. Hm.
On the other hand, I got a $10 Amazon gift card for answering a semiconductor equipment survey on line. Maybe I just need to stick to those!
😉

I was wondering the same thing. Doesn’t seem worth the time.
