Here’s how this is going to go down. Follow these instructions carefully:
Step 1: Change into some comfy elastic-waisted pants.
Step 2: Make these brownies.
Step 3: Don’t stop eating them until you hate yourself.
Step 4: Vow to spend an extra hour at the gym.
Step 5: Feel guilty because you don’t actually have a gym membership.
Step 6: Eat another brownie to make yourself feel better.
Ingredients
1 cup butter
2 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup Nutella
4 eggs, room temperature
1 1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat. Stir in sugar and stirring constantly for about 2 more minutes {do NOT bring to a boil}. Stir in Nutella and remove from heat.
In a stand mixer, beat Nutella mix with the cocoa powder, eggs, salt, baking powder, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined. Add the flour and chocolate chips and mix until incorporated.
Spread dough evenly into prepared pan, and bake until toothpick inserted comes out clean, about 30 minutes. Cool before serving. Enjoy.

Hi Mavis, Not a brownie comment….but saw the “candy corn dispenser” on your blog and was wondering. What happened to the chickens” Did they convey with the sale of the old place OR are they in storage? Thanks…
Mavis Butterfield says
We gave all of our chickens, and the Eglu {their lifetime home} to Chino the Handyman’s best friend and his family. They have 4 young kiddos, and just purchased their dream “mini farm.” We know they are going to a good home and most importantly, they will be loved.

There’s a mistake in your recipe:
Cool before serving. Frost with Nutella. Enjoy.
Mavis Butterfield says
Nope. The Nutella is mixed in. 🙂
Lisa says
Yeah, mixed in AND on top. Cause you don’t want it to go to waste in the jar!*
*Like that would ever happen…

That sounds soooooo delicious!!!

Hello, I just came across your recipe and I definitely can’t wait to try them! But just one question, doesn’t 2 1/4 cups sugar make the brownies too sweet?
Mavis Butterfield says
We think the brownies are delicious. 🙂
