The girls seem to be eating and drinking pretty well. They have dined on organic chicken feed, a few weeds, slugs, peas, a little lettuce bowl and strawberries. I’m pleasantly surprised by the lack of noise. These hens are super quiet. You cannot hear them from five feet away.
Trying to get them into the Eglu last night was a bit of an adventure. Ultimately what worked was a little flash light. We put a flashlight (obviously turned on) in the corner of the Eglu and after about a minute they all went towards the light. Then we closed the door and just like that, they were all tucked in for the night.
Since the chickens are about 18 weeks old, according to Omlet.com we should be collecting eggs in about 2 weeks. I can’t wait!
