I thought I would go ahead and post our favorite Chex Mix recipe again. We will be enjoying this yummy Chex party mix {by the handful} over the next few days. I hope you like it as much as we do. It just wouldn’t be Christmas without it.
Ingredients
3 cups Corn Chex cereal
3 cups Rice Chex cereal
3 cups Wheat Chex cereal
1 cup mixed nuts {I used cashews and almonds}
1 cup pretzel pieces
6 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Directions
Preheat oven to 250 degrees
In large bowl, mix together the cereal, nuts, pretzels and set aside.
Place 6 tablespoons in a large roasting pan and melt butter in the oven. Stir in seasonings, then gradually stir in cereal mixture until evenly coated.
Bake for 1 hour, stirring about every 15 minutes. Spread on Chex Mix on paper towels to cool, then store in airtight container.

My family likes it extra spicy so we use 6 Tablespoon of the Worchestershire sauce. I leave out the seasoned salt as don’t want it to be too salty.
Another thing I do is mix up multiple batches at once. I might not bake them all but the ingredients are all measured out into 2, 3 or 4 of the gallon size ziploc bags. Seems easier to get all boxes out once, measure all at once. Then I just stick the uncooked bags back on the snack shelf until ready to make another batch.

Mavis,
This is close to what my family has been doing since before I was born….almost 50 years ago. We use the entire box of each Chex, plus a small box of Cheerios, olive oil in place of butter, and no onion powder. It fits in my large, blue canning kettle. I make 3 large batches every year to give away to neighbors. I also send to my son across the country, the other kids get theirs when they stop in, and we enjoy the rest. It’s a nice change from all the sweet at Christmas. It is a tradition that starts the day after Thanksgiving.

Try a shake of celery salt & a dash of Liquid Smoke in the mix. Takes it to the next level!!
