Looking for a fun craft to do with the kids that you can actually use? How about potato stamped Christmas wrapping paper? They will have a blast “playing with their food” and you can use their creations to wrap gifts. Plus, how charming is it that you give gifts that are wrapped in so much effort?
You’ll need:
- Potatoes
- Sharp knife {Parents should do this step!}
- Cookie cutters
- Paint
- Roll of white or brown paper
- Paint Brush
Directions:
- Cut potato in half. Decide what shape you want {Christmas tree, santa hats, bells, etc.}
- Gently press a cookie cutter into the potato and then remove the outside of your shape, carving it out, lifting out the pieces you don’t want.
- Paint your shape with the paint and paintbrush.
- Flip it over and stamp your paper in whatever pattern that makes your heart sing.
Now wipe up the kids hands and faces and make yourself a cup of tea—you’ve done all the parenting you need to for today my friends. Ha.
That’s a wrap,
Mavis
