Looking for some fun Halloween decorations that don’t cost a penny? Check out these Spooky Halloween Ghosts my daughter made last night. All she used were some old milk jugs, a black sharpie, and 1 strand of Christmas lights. What fun!
How to Make Milk Jug Spooky Ghosts
- Collect 6-8 milk jugs, wash with soapy water and let dry
- Use a black sharpie to draw some spooky faces on to the jugs
- Cut a 2″ hole in the back of the jug near the bottom
- String lights through the jugs
- Plug in!

HA! They “expired” and became ghosts. They are cute. Clever, clever.

Humm I like the idea but you know what would make it better? Take off the caps and the little rings around the neck get a popsicle stick and glue it somehow inside the neck or use a rubber band and wrap it around the neck attaching it to the popsicle stick. (or something like that, I’m not good with stuff like this) Then paint the faces on them but with the bottom as the top instead.
Use the popsicle stick as a stake and stick it in a pot of dirt or in the ground with the lights as they were before.
Anyways just an idea.

These are adorable! Think I may have to try this….except instead of stringing lights I will try dropping in glow sticks. Colorful and portable.
Thanks for the idea Mavis.
