Do you have power strips that you have to follow the cord in order to find out what you are unplugging? It can be a real booger to get to the source, especially when the cords are underneath the computer desk or behind the entertainment center—plus you run the risk of getting attacked by giant dust bunnies. No thank you.
Here’s a quick solution to keep your cords labeled without spending a dime: Keep those little plastic clips on your bread bags for the next couple of weeks. When you’ve collected enough, use them to label all of your cords. Write what the cord belongs to with a sharpie on the plastic clip and then slide it onto the base of the cord near the plug. No more following the trail.
Organizing is cool.

I do this for the multitude of HDMI cords that are snaking around behind the tv, super helpful when I’m contorted around behind the entertainment unit.
