Attention all teachers, librarians or parents of kiddos 12 and under. I just heard about Epic!, and while my kids are grown, I know I have plenty of readers out there that could take advantage of this great site! Epic is a digital library geared towards kids 12 and under. You basically get access to over 25,000 of the best books, learning videos, quizzes & more, all on a site that is safe and kid-friendly.
I so wish something like that existed when my kids were growing up. I would have used it in a heartbeat. I think little growing mind need reading like I need my tea. Books are pretty much the most important learning tool in the history of ever. And now your kids can get their hands on tens of thousands!!
Even better? If you are a teacher or librarian, it’s FREE! Not either of those? No worries. They’ve got a freebie for you, too! You can check out Epic! for free for 30 days, and if you love it as much as I suspect you will, you can join for only $7.99 a month.
Head on over here and check it out for yourself. And then get to reading!

Mavis! Thanks for sharing Epic! I just started teaching Spanish in Elementary school and I think I will be able to use some of these books in my lessons. Plus my daughter will enjoy it, she’s 4 years old. Also, thanks for reminding me to redeem my Verizon points in one of your previous posts. I got a $10 Starbucks card with my rewards points and realized they were overcharging me. I had returned a rental modem and bought my own and they were still charging me for it. So now they fixed my bill, saving me $10 a month from here on out. Win win!

I’d note that a *lot* of libraries have digital book checkouts and large collections – I don’t know what the overlap would be like for any given public library, but just putting in a plug for checking out what your local library has to offer as well!

Thanks for the heads up! I homeschool my kids so I set up an account for an educator and it actually accepted it:) There are so many great books on the site for my littlest one especially.

Awesome. Glad you were able to get the freebie.

I’m a homeschooler also so I tried to set up the educator account too. Everything worked except it will not take my email address. It insists that I use the email address assigned by my school. How did you get around that part?
