Last year when I neck deep in the house remodel, I did a segment on King 5 of a couple of quick Halloween/Fall decor crafts. Since I had a bunch of scrap wood lying around, I decided to gather some of it up and make some DIY wood pumpkins. This is a great craft to get the kids involved with, because they can do the painting {you really can’t screw it up} and then you can add the nails and ribbon.
Blocks of wood {any size you can get your hands on work, I used scraps of 2 x 4}
Green Ribbon
Hammer and nails
Orange Paint
Paint Brush
Fine Grit Sandpaper
Paint the wood blocks front and back with the orange paint. Using the sandpaper, lightly scuff up the edges of the wood. Gently pound two nails into the top of the block of wood. Tie the green ribbon around the nails.
Doesn’t get much easier than that.

Now I know what to do with the scrap pieces of 8×8’s that I’ve been holding onto for no reason! My wife is going to LOVE these.
