You know how I’m always raving about freezer meals and how they make my life so easy and yadayadayada? Well I’ve combined two of my favorite things with this meal: freezer meals and crock pot meals. Pretty sure I hit the jackpot of genius ideas with this one. Freezer meals just got even easier {if that’s even possible}.
Ingredients
3 large chicken breasts {I used Zaycon chicken}
1 cup teriyaki sauce
1 cup water
2/3 cup brown sugar
3 garlic cloves
3 slices of ginger {optional}
Directions
Load all the ingredients into a gallon sized Ziplock bag, lay it flat, label and freeze.
Crock Pot Cooking Method: Cook from frozen on low for 6 hours or until chicken is thoroughly cooked, or thaw overnight in the refrigerator overnight and cook on low for 4 hours or until chicken is thoroughly cooked.
Oven Cooking Method: Thaw overnight in the refrigerator. Cook at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes or until chicken is cooked thoroughly.

Ok maybe I am not getting it, but chicken always seems so dry when done in the crock and these crock meals just don’t taste as good to me, what am I doing wrong?

You are just cooking them too long 🙁 Shorten the time and then they will be juicy and yummy!

I agree. I used to put chicken in the crockpot before I left for work. When I came home it was an over cooked mess. I guess if you want “pulled” chicken it was okay but that was not what I was going for.

I get better results with chicken thighs than breasts. Some people don’t like the taste, but if you’re ok with it, it almost always comes out juicier than the breasts. I sometimes make a whole chicken in the crockpot, and the breasts are pretty good, but the thighs are AMAZING.

This looks delicious! I’m going out to buy some teriyaki sauce and brown sugar! I’m going to have to make a bunch of these. I can’t wait to try it.
