Parenthood is a Steve Martin Classic. It’s been a family favorite of ours for years. I love that we all love it, for different reasons, I’m sure. But it’s fun to see such a funny take on a dysfunctional family. Makes me feel a bit more normal! Plus, you’ll see a young Keanu Reeves sighting, which is always a bonus. Ha!
Also, it spawned the TV show Parenthood, which was one of the best shows on TV ever. Period.
Let me know what you think if you decide to watch itโor if you have already seen it.
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,
~Mavis

Are you watching it because of the retainer bit? He lost his retainer…yours was eaten. It’s a common theme. ๐

Ha! Maybe. ๐

I am an amazon prime member and we recently got a roku. We’d been watching through our computer and seemed to have lots of access. Now things are unavailable free or require an add on subscription. Have you had any difficulties lately? I just checked on parenthood since it seems you accessed it for free tonight but it’s $2.99. Any thoughts? Thanks! Love the new zero waste tilt to the blog and always look to you for recipe inspiration. I was hoping to use your Friday night at the movies section similarly re tv!

It is $3.99 for me to watch it with Prime. Do you really pay to watch these movies every week? I won’t.
I am pretty certain we will not be renewing Prime since we had meant for it as a replacement for our cost of Netflix. Now I regret our decision and will go back as soon as my year is up.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!
The retainer scene is good…especially when Steve Martin says to the cop asking how this happens turns and says to the wife ‘Why don’t you show them, honey’. HA!
Love Diane Weist scene where she comes home from the date and the daughter storms out talking about being pregnant and Diane Weist says ‘Grandmother? No, I’m too young to be a grandmother. Grandmothers talk about the Depression and bake cookies. I went to Woodstock for God’s sake and peed in a field’ and her date says ‘I was at Woodstock’ and she says ‘oh yeah, I thought you looked familiar’. Kills me every time.
That movie is real life. One of my favorites.
