I’m still truckin’ along on my John Hughes kick. Tonight, I’m planning on watching Sixteen Candles. I like to re-watch it every few years because…well, it’s awesome. If you haven’t seen it {you’ve been living under a rock, and it’s time to come out…kidding}, it’s about a girl whose family forgets her 16th birthday. It’s “what’s happenin’ hot-stuff,” so you should totally check it out :).
Have you have already seen it? Did you love it? Hate it? Can’t wait to watch it over and over?
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,
~Mavis

It is one of my favorite movies ever. Seen it probably 20 times. I introduced it to my kids a few years back and now it’s one of their favorites too. We love those John Hughes movies, they never stop being funny!

And Jake is just so FOXY!!!! Seen it at least 50 times an it never gets old.
‘Is Samantha home and if so may I converse with her briefly?’ The grandparents….OMG too funny!!!! Trying to flip pancakes while smoking and the other grandma trying to catch the ashes! And the little brother…the one liners never end. CLASSIC!!!

I am a child of the 70/80’s so John Hughes was my cinematic hero. I had my only BIG party at 16 with a ton of friends and it was epic. We started the night by watching 16 Candles and I timed it so it was literally my 16th time watching on my 16th birthday of 16 Candles…geeky but oh so 80’s of me.
