Tonight The Girl and I are going to celebrate the final days of summer break with a classic: The Great Outdoors. Let me tell you Bob, this movie is a hoot. I’ve seen it a million times, and it still makes me laugh.
John Candy is hilarious!
Have you seen it before? What are some of YOUR favorite movies?
Have a great weekend,

I agree, this is one funny movie! That said, I would warn parents that while it’s rated PG, it isn’t for young children! I would find it embarrassing to watch with children old enough to question some of the jokes, but no old enough to get them! I am surprised it is a PG actually.
I think Dan Aykroyd is a very good actor, as evidenced in Driving Miss Daisy. I usually avoid the movies he and John Candy are in (although my son loves Cool Runnings), they just aren’t my type of humor.
This one does have it’s moments!
My favorite movies? They are all over the place!
Scoop is very cute.
Driving Miss Daisy is wonderful.
I will admit to enjoying the first Big Momma’s House!
The Lord of the Rings of course.
Some all-time favorites are Murder by Death (if you like murder mystery books or television, this is a must!), The Wrong Box, and the original (Michael Caine) Italian Job.

This is the movie that we took on family vacations to watch for probably 15 years! My favorite part is when they are trying to get the bat, Dan Aykroyd’s face is what gets me every time!!

And I can’t believe that anyone else loves Murder By Death. Very underrated movie.
