So, I’ve seen The Truman Show a bunch of times, but The Girl wanted to watch it again, so we put it on the docket for tonight. If you haven’t seen it, it’s about a boy who is raised {unknown to him} in a completely fabricated studio world, while his entire life is filmed, real T.V. style. It’s a Jim Carrey classic.
Peace out Girl Scouts & have yourself a great weekend,
~Mavis

I really enjoy this movie… haven’t seen it in a while.
The only thing I didn’t like about it when I first saw it, was that I was disappointed that the trailer gave away what was happening… It would have been more fun to discover the situation he was in as the movie went along.
I don’t often like to see the trailers… mostly prefer to be totally surprised when going in to a movie and no expectations! 🙂

This is such a good movie. I think it is especially great for families with adolescents to watch as we all grapple with our reality — what we will let define us. Jim Carrey is very talented. Most of the films he does are not this compelling and thought provoking (and honestly, some of those characters get on my nerves). TRUMAN is different.
If you haven’t seen it — you need to see it!

Hi Mavis! One of my family’s favorite movies is called “The Man Who Never Was”. It’s a really cool WWII film starring Clifton Web. It’s an amazingly true story that I’m sure you’d love to watch. If you haven’t seen it, do look it up!
