Tonight The Girl and I will be watching the documentary We the Tiny House people. It’s is about small homes, tiny flats, and wee shelters from the Old and New world. Although I don’t think I would want to live in a 120 square foot house {where would I keep all my garden tools?} this film looks pretty interesting.
Have you seen it?
Let me know what you think if you decide to watch it–or if you have already seen it. Did you love it? Hate it? Can’t wait to watch it over and over?

Have you seen any episodes of Extreme Cheapskates on TLC? O M G Taking a test-drive for a turkey is one thing. These crazies take things to a whole new level. See if you can track down an episode. NUTTERS.

I think it is a great way to make yourself live a simple lifestyle. I do not personally think I could do it (especially with two kids), but, it does inspire me to look at the idea of a yurt in the woods when everyone is grown and gone!

Love the idea but not sure if I could actually do it. I’ve lived in a 1200 sq. ft. house for 25 years and though I could go a little smaller with ease, a 400-600 sq. ft. house is a little too small. Plus my husband might have a thing or two to say about it.

This was really beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I have been toying with the idea of baring down my life a lot, but it is a challenge for me. I wish I had the courage that some of these folks have.
Though we have cut out things like television, we have such a long way to go as far as possessions and spacial concerns. Our current place is around 1,000 sq ft, and it is definitely too large for our needs. I would love to find some place around 700 sq ft or so and be able to cut down our heating/cooling bill and water usage.

I follow the tiny house blog and really enjoy seeing the tiny homes. It’s important to learn to be content with needs and realize we don’t need all our wants. I have a sign in my kitchen that simply says “simplify.” It helps me remember not be stressed about trying to make an elaborate meal when friends come over, but that the friendship is what is most important. It’s okay to have just a few things for a meal. For each person, simplifying is different. Although I live in a 900 sq ft house, by keeping a simpler life, I have enjoyed much more time to read and study the Bible and share its message with others. For me, that is priceless. Matthew 6:22

Watched this last night, and it totally blew me away. I’m sitting here in the giant basement suite I just rented looking at an empty living room because I don’t own any couches etc and thinking “their house would fit in my bedroom!!” And here I am stoked to have found such a massive place that fit within my budget!
