Our property sits on a little over an acre. We decided early on not to landscape the entire piece of land. Partly due to lack of funds but mostly because of the incredible amount of time it would take to maintain the property. If it were up to me, I’d till the entire thing and grow vegetables.
If it were up to the chickens, they’d scratch every nook and cranny until they had found all the worms, bugs and seeds available. And that’s where my problem lies. The chickens. Sometime around mid July of last year I got lazy and consequently let the birds have free reign over the backyard. I was too busy blogging about coupon crack to maintain both the front and the backyard. Basically, I kind of let things go to H in a handbasket. But 2012 is a new year. I have recently declared 2012 as the Year of the Garden and I plan on not only cleaning up around here, but completing a few landscaping projects that have been on my list for years as well. It may take me a while. But I’ll get there.
