Costco $31.96
School starts this week for Monkey Boy so when I went shopping I only had one thing on my mind. BUY STUFF HE LIKES. 🙂 My son is about 152 times picker when it comes to food than my daughter so packing his lunch can be a bit of a challenge sometimes.
Albertson’s $27.23
How can you go wrong with Twinkies and overly processed cupcakes? 😉 I also picked up a few can of refried beans {so I can make him burritos} his favorite vanilla yogurt, OJ for breakfast, Parmesan and cream cheese for me and a boatload of apples for his lunch.
Bakery Outlet Store $5.00
I also stopped by the bakery outlet and picked up a months worth {or more} of bread and bagels for his lunches.

And last but not least, chocolate milk. Now that The Girl is away at college I have switched out the whole milk for Monkey Boy’s favorite chocolate milk.
Life is good when you’re the only kid left in the house. 🙂
How did you do this week? Will you be glad to be back to a routine now that the new school is finally here?

Mavis,
As usual you put me to shame on how much you spent in the grocery store. We went to Winco and Costco and spent a lot of money but other than some produce and dairy items, we won’t need to spend much in the month of September. I wrote a meal plan and we stuck to it really well last week. I made homemade wheat bread and homemade french bread and we have been working away on both with our meals. Yesterday we went to my Dad’s orchards and I brought home full boxes of nectarines, plums, apples, peaches, and pairs as well as some corn on the cob- I’ll bet you can imagine what I have planned this week! Peach jam, plum jam and plum sauce, pear vanilla jam, apple crisp and not sure what I will do with the nectarines but of course we will be eating fresh fruit at every meal and in between! I think if I plan it right, I will only need to buy a bit of produce and dairy products for September and maybe October as well.
