Albertsons $7.86
Talking about an easy peasy shopping trip! $0.49 a can for beans and $0.99 a bag for 3 pounds of granny smith apples? Heck yeah I’ll stop by and pick some up. No problem. I was hoping to get 12 cans of black beans but they were all sold out, so I just picked up what they had and got a rain check for later. I don’t know what it is about black beans, but I’m totally addicted to them.

Monkey Boy’s dreams came true last week. 🙂 Captain Crunch, Cheetos, Ritz crackers and chili. Giddy up! The HH was in Alaska for business for a few days so it was just the two of us. I ate freezer meals for lunch and dinner and enjoyed vegetables from the garden while Monkey Boy was on a 4 day preservative high. We should all be so lucky. Ha!
Oh, and I totally did not intend to buy REDUCED FAT peanut butter!! Grrr, I hate when that happens. Would it be weird if I took it back and asked to exchange it? Have you done that before?

Now that we’re going through less milk around here my plan is to stock up on butter for the holidays.
Life is good.

Totally take back that reduced fat to get the full fat. We love skippy here too!!! Full fat all the way! Super chunky is good too!

My HH loves crunchy cheetos. i bought 8 boxes of Captain Crunch to donate to food drives later this fall. Came home and the HH was eating them by the handful while watching Star Trek re-runs. He says they are best “raw” without milk, as a snack. Go ahead and return that peanut butter. They will understand, the blue labels look alike. Also you may have missed at Albertsons all Sept. their monthly ad that is clipped onto the corners of each aisle, has Everyday Essentials Freezer bags or storage bags, or snack and sandwich bags for .69/box for your 1st 2 with coupon in that ad. That makes the gal. freezer bags about .04 a bag, cheaper than Costco.

I don’t see the apples in ad… in store special?
Mavis Butterfield says
They were right out front so I’m guessing they were.

As long as the safety seal gizmo is still seal you should be fine. I would think.
Or maybe just use it for baking where you won’t notice the difference?
Nancy says
I take back things that are wron and say my husband bought the wrong thing. 😉

I think your Albertsons and mine have different sales. I’m Intermountain Albertsons, and we didn’t have that awesome sale on apples. I would have bought those for making apple crisp. I went to Albertsons yesterday and got 4 boxes of 18oz Frosted Mini Wheats, used 2 coupons for $1/2, got Shopper’s Value milk free with purchase of 4 boxes of Kellogg’s cereal, got 2 roma tomatoes (we had hamburgers last night) and a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. The tomatoes and Reese’s were Saving Star deals–free Reese’s and 20% off the tomatoes. I paid $7.77 for everything and expect to get .85 cents back through Saving Star.
Marcia says
Yep, same here. I’m in California, no sale on apples or beans.
AmyD says
Hi Mavis,
Do you freeze the butter for storage or just refrigerate? Just wonder what’s the
best storage method when stocking up on butter.
Thanks a bunch!
Mavis Butterfield says
I freeze butter all the time. 🙂 It usually keeps up to 6 months.
linda says
Totally take it back. I have done it many times.
Lisa says
I love how Nancy blames it on the husband! 🙂
Jess says
Yep take it back, I blame it on my husband too. 😉
