The Girl Who Thinks Shes a Bird and her brother Monkey Boy hosted an “End of the School Year” party this past weekend. To be honest, I was a little worried at first when we decided on a four hour party… Four hours seemed like an awfully loooong time to have a house full of teenagers over…or so I thought…These kids were AWESOME…
I don’t think the party could of gone any more smoothly than it did…
Well … actually there was ONE THING that I did not approve of…
These…
Some boy gave my daughter a giant bouquet of flowers…
…Upon seeing this the handsome husband turned into the kitchen (out of this kids sight) and said “WOW… that takes guts… ” part WOW.DID.THAT.JUST.HAPPEN? Did some kid just give my daughter flowers? And part…”Son… there is no chance in H*** you will be invited back here again… but nice try.And that’s all I’m going to say about that.

Okay… so if you are planning on hosting a party with teenagers anytime soon…
Here are a few suggestions…
#1
Keep Them Busy…
Have SUPER FUN games like… The Frozen T-Shirt Game…
Soak all your husbands t-shirts in water, fold them and freeze them solid. Then gather the teenagers in a circle and announce:
“The first person to unfold their t-shirt and put it on will win a prize”…
FYI: This party game will take approx 20 minutes… for a winner…
and could take up to an hour for others…
“Wow… a giant box of shampoo… I have frostbite on my fingertips from trying to pull apart a frozen t-shirt for the last 20 minutes and all I won was a years supply of shampoo….
Holy Cow… Your mom really is crazy…”
Gee Thanks Mavis…
Another Great party game is Limbo…
Which can easily be made from leftover pvc pipes…
And with a prize like free toothpaste…
What kid wouldn’t want to play?
And don’t forget about a pinata…
They don’t even care what’s inside the thing…
After winning a box of shampoo & a tube of toothpaste this kid wanted to know if the pinata was stuffed with toilet paper…
But he quickly discovered it was not filled with toilet paper…
POP TARTS!!!!!!
Holy Cow… she filled it with pop tarts…
This strange kid actually picked up the dismembered unicorn pinata and ran around the yard with it thinking it’s head was filled with more processed strawberry iced goodness….but it wasn’t…
And lastly… the donut game….
Basically you tie a rope between 2 trees and tie a bazillion mini doughnuts to it…
Girls on one side… boys on the other… hands behind your back… and the first team to finish their doughnuts win!
Yahoooooo
For the most part…
Having a boatload of teenagers over is easy… all you need to do is feed them, have something for them to do, a few bottles of shampoo… and you’re all set!

Oh, Mavis. You want to keep an eye on that young man……if your daughter likes him, they will find places to meet if you DON’T invite him back…..I have been there before. If you don’t like him, pretend you do. Having parental blessings seems to chill teenage hormones.
