I don’t know if I’m turning into a lazy couponer, tired of processed food, or just plain tired of shopping. But I’m proud to say, with the exception of 1 item last week, I bought real food.
All. Real. Food.
Maybe Bob Dylan was right… the times are a changing. Or perhaps I’m just tired of having to walk a mile to the produce and dairy sections in the grocery stores. Exhausted of having to pass display after display of processed crap in a colorful box. With gardening season right around the corner, I have a feeling things are going to start to get a little interesting around here.
Here are the groceries I bought last week:
{No coupons were required}.
Safeway & QFC $6.12
Local Produce Stand $5.32
Costco $15.12
Total Spent This Week $26.64
Total Spent This Year $320.32
Total Spent This Year on Garden Seeds/Supplies $339.38
Were you able to take advantage of any good deals in your neck of the woods last week?

We picked our first asparagus last night. Soon we’ll be eating out of the garden full force. I can’t wait!
You Can Call Me Jane says
You always get asparagus WAY before us. How is that?! You can’t even SEE ours yet!
Mavis says
That’s weird. JJ is picking hers.
Mavis says
What kind of potatoes do you grow?
Challice says
Nothing beats fresh food. Nothing. 🙂
Mavis says
I agree. Unless of course we are talking about eating a fresh lemon tart in a cafe in London. That would be my only exception. 🙂

I agree with Challice above. I starting reading you when you were jumping off that processed train so I think you are in the process of heading back that way! Good for you.. I too have a pantry of sprouting aliens that will be planted soon.
Mavis says
Let’s hope so. All I know is I can’t wait ti start hauling in the produce.
