I went into Costco for an Easter ham. That’s it. Not only did I forget about the ham but I ended up buying a bunch of other stuff that was not on my 1 item list. Bahahaha. Has that ever happened to you?
I didn’t even realize I forgot the ham until I was taking the photograph of the food on our kitchen table and I was like hey, where’s the ham?
I am totally losing it I tell you, totally losing it. I have about a million and two other things on my mind lately and buying groceries is not one of them. 🙁Panera – Free
I popped into Panera on Tuesday for their baker’s dozen bagels for $6.99 and also picked up some cream cheese spread to go with it. I have exhausted my Christmas gift card and am now working on my birthday gift card from my parents so I didn’t have to pay anything.
Smith Brothers Milk Delivery $11.16
We are still getting our milk delivered. 🙂
How did you do this week with your grocery shopping? Please tell me I’m not the only one who has gone into a store to buy one thing and come out without it.
Seriously, 1 item. How could I forget that?

It happens here too! The worst part of the store is that darn bakery. I want one of everything and then I get home and wonder what in the world I was thinking. I stopped at Trader Joe’s yesterday and had 2 things on my list and could only remember one of them until I was home. Grrr….TJ’s is 25 miles from me and I really needed that other item.

Yeah, getting old stinks! ;-(

I’ve done that more often than I’d like to admit! I have found a silly trick that helps me remember most of the time. I put the item I want to get into a song. For example, ham could be…. ham tomorrow, ham yesterday, but never ever ham today! Fair warning though, the song may get stuck in your head! 😉

It’s a 45 minute trip to Costco for us and we forgot bacon. First thing on our list. And we forgot it! *sigh*

We just got a Costco membership this last weekend and our strategy was to go down every aisle and determine what we would save on by purchasing at Costco. So far we determined that we can save on contact solution (50% more at the same cost) and a few other things, but mostly our problem is storage after we buy things. We only have one regular sized fridge and freezer and there are only two of us! Next week we are planning on buying cherry tomatoes and strawberries at Costco because they have a great price on them and we eat a lot of them!

How does the jasmine rice compare taste-wise to basmati? I usually get basmati, but I think the jasmine is cheaper.

My husband is from southeast asia and jasmine rice is the everyday rice they use there. It has a longer grain, and smells like popcorn when cooking to those who aren’t used to it. Almost everyone I know prefers it once they try it 🙂

as far as forgetting things…I tried to just remember how many things I needed…and put that in my head until it was that 1 item that I went in for and forgot it. I have started putting the list on my iphone. That has helped a lot!!!

Wish I had a Costo near me!!! I live in a somewhat remote area of Northeast Michigan. We have a Kmart and are very limited on grocery stores. I went to one Saturday only to pick up several rotted Tomatoes. Just walked away shaking my head. The 100 mile drive downstate is always worth it!!!

I’m with Ellen. I put my list in a draft text message and then delete the items from the list as I get each item. Also they do have list apps specifically for that where you can add items and then check them off.

I have a post it note type app, LOVE IT! I ALWAYS have my phone with me when I leave the house, so it really is the “handiest” thing!

I have a dry erase board next to my fridge so that anytime we run out of something or getting low, on the board it goes. If I’m running to the store that day or heading to the general area of my grocery store, I take a quick snap picture of my board with my Iphone and away I go.
