I didn’t plan on being a lazy shopper his past week, it just sort of happened. I only popped into the grocery store once for a lime, a bunch of cilantro and one can of sweetened condensed milk for a pie I’ll be making later this week. For the second week in a row, I forgot the Easter ham.
Let’s hope I remember to get it this week, or we’ll be eating oatmeal for Easter dinner instead.
Smith Brothers Milk Delivery $11.16
Who knew being a shut in was so easy. If it weren’t for the milkman and UPS guy I would have had a really boring week.
Vitacost – Free
I had some Vitacost credit so I stocked up on snacks for the monkeys and coffee for the HH. Vitacost was having a buy 1 get 1 half off sale last week so I was able to get some really good deals.
So, what was I doing all last week instead of shopping? Well, cleaning out and reorganizing the freezers.
We have 2 big chest freezers in the garage and each summer they get filled with homegrown fruits and vegetables from our backyard garden. By the time fall rolls around I have both those babies stuffed full of not only produce, but a gazillion freezer meals as well.
We still have a lot of berries {especially blueberries} rhubarb, peppers, jams as well as a few pans of meatloaf and beef pot pies to go through, but pretty soon this freezer will be empty as well.
I guess that can only mean one thing. I better get out there are start gardening.
Yee- Haw!
How is your freezer looking these days? Do you still have a lot of last summers fruits and veggies to get through?

Hey Mavis, Just wondering – did those dividers come with your freezer or did you purchase them? I find that my chest freezer is a pain to organize and those dividers look fabulous.
Mavis Butterfield says
Hi Linda, the blue dividers came with the freezer {we bought it at Costco}.
Angie says
I was wondering the same about the freezer dividers and baskets and where to purchase. I’ve never seen those.
Also, I was trying to figure out what the round crockpot looking machine was in the freezer. It must be some wise, clever way to do something! Do tell!
Angie says
Nevermind, I just read in an earlier post, December 14, 2012, that the dividers came with your freezer. Boo!
I saw them on E-Bay just now for $119!
Blessings!
Linda says
Yuk!! Not that interested in being organized!! HA!
Mary Ann says
I’m not Mavis, but I can tell you that it is a KitchenAid ice cream attachment.

I still have some blueberries and peaches left and need to use up to make room for new stuff! I’m always afaid I will run out of fruit before winter is over I kind of don’t use it (no, no..not really hoarding!) but then we get to this time of year and it is rush to use it all up. I see blueberry muffins and peach cobbler on the menu!
Becky Groff says
Bummer! I really wanted to purchase those dividers for the freezer. wish they weren’t so expensive

Becky, you could always make some. Sign stores carry corrugated plastic, would work great for you!

I still have some raspberries (from my Grandmother’s garden, not mine) and lots of Anaheim and Fresno peppers that are capped, cleaned and ready for stuffing in the freezer. Not much else though.
