A little over 2 weeks ago I showed you the gutters I installed in my greenhouse. So far I have planted Easter Egg Radishes, Parisian Carrots, Red Scallions and Spinach. But every time I walk into the greenhouse something feels a little off. I’ve decided it’s my OCD kicking in and now I must install a set of matching gutters on the opposite side of the ones you see above, to make everything right in my world. If I can do that, not only will I be able to grow more food, but the inside of the greenhouse will have a more balanced feel. Balance is good. Especially if you’re the type of person who must have everything line up “just so” or you start to break out in hives.
But I suppose once I install gutters on the right side then I’ll have to install them on the back side as well. Hmm.
Oh well. Let’s get back to show and tell.
I know the carrots and scallions will take a little longer to germinate but look what has popped up:
Easter Egg Radishes
Lavewa Spinach
Pretty Neat-O if you ask me.
I’m thinking with a little luck we should be harvesting radishes by the end of the month. Once I get everything set up in the greenhouse and the weather starts to warm up, it will be interesting to see how much food I’ll be able to grow in there. I’m beginning to wonder if over a 1 year period I could grow as much food inside the greenhouse and I could outside of the greenhouse. Hmm. Maybe I should keep track.
What are your plans for today? Will you be working in the garden?

I just wanted to say I just discovered your blog yesterday and I love it. I’ve been going back to read your old entries and am not done yet!
My plans for today: Send the husband and kids out of the house. They will be going to their weekly swim lesson followed by a movie. During that time I will get to do my grocery shopping at Rite Aid & Fred Meyer – go coupons! 🙂

I’m thinking with your green house you will be harvesting year round this year, maybe not giant pumpkins but a nice variety to keep your produce bins full. Plan for today, approve hubbys progress on garden expansion. Making room for chickens by moving tomato bed to opposite side of the yard. Chicken coop and run will be built in its place. Also its pea pickin’ time, sow more peas, tatsoi, kale, basil and carrots. I’m growing Parisienne from Baker Creek. Are these the same as you? They are supposed to be small and round like a globe. Also getting started on giant mammoth sunflowers. Sounds like we all have dirt under our nails today. Hope you enjoy!
