Did you know today is National Gardening Exercise Day? Yes, yes it is. So get out there, pull weeds, mow the lawn, plant something–just make sure you keep your core tight and your glutes in check.
Gardening exercise day originates from garden clubs and groups–hoping to highlight that gardening not only grows you pure, edible energy, but it also burns it off. Ah, the circle of life. This national celebration calls for putting away the power tools and opting instead for old fashioned gardening manual labor. You’re probably gonna want to grab a water bottle before you head out the door.
Now what are you waiting for? Get out there and celebrate!

I didn’t do much exercise in the garden today but I made up for it yesterday. I put together a new raised bed. I need to go get my soil tomorrow and then I am planting okra in it, and maybe a couple more tomato plants. You can never have too many tomatoes.

I agree. You can never have too many tomatoes. 🙂

I’ll tell my husband- he spent the day installing drainage pipes to stop our garden from turning into a swamp every time it rains. There was a digger involved, but he definitely feels as though he got enough exercise, cutting turf and shovelling and barrowing gravel!
