We have an older Korean lady who lives in our neighborhood. Everyone affectionately calls her “Grandma,” and she speak ah no English. Well, that’s a lie. She can speak a wee bit of English.
When Monkey Boy returned from weeding her yard this afternoon, he had an enormous bag of opened popcorn {half caramel corn and half cheddar} under his arm. Grandma is always giving Monkey Boy random food, so when I saw it, I just giggled.
Mavis: “What did Grandma say this time?”
Monkey: “Me half. You have. Happy Day.”
Mavis: “Well what do you think it means?”
Monkey: “Well how am I suppose to know? She just smiled, handed me the bag, and went back in her house.”
– We are assuming she meant for him to have the half of the bag she did not eat.
