It’s been pretty quiet in the garden lately. Cold temperatures, leaves falling and cold weather crops like lettuce and carrots taking there own sweet time to grow.
Did you plant garlic this fall? Are you starting to see it shoot up? I need to get mine mulched with leaves to give it a little added protection. According to the weatherman we should see temps in the upper 20’s to low 30’s later this week.
The moss is dead and now we have lots of holes in the lawn again. Hopefully next spring I can fill it in with some Tagro and grass seed.
Last week when it rained for 2 days straight, I noticed some water build up between our property and the neighbors. I’ll need to remember to fill this area in next spring.
And last but not least… potatoes! I don’t know about you, but nothing beats freshly dug potatoes in late fall. A little butter, a little salt and you’ve got a meal.
Have a wonderful Sunday everyone, and stay warm.
