Backyard Garden Plot Pictures – Week 38 of 52

You can totally tell things are winding down in the backyard garden. When I let the chickens out in the mornings there is a bit of chill in the air. I think I might have to double up on the long sleeved black t-shirts here pretty soon.

The Bok Choy is ready to be picked and the strawberry runners I transplanted a few weeks ago are doing great. Now, if I could get those beans to turn yellow so I could harvest the {for dried beans} I’be be one happy camper. 

We’ve harvested beans from the tepees a few times and a few of the squash should be ready to harvest soon as well. Last year I had nice big vines, this year, not so much. I guess it’s true, you really do need to rotate your crops.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed the evil slugs stay away from the purple cabbages just a little longer.

What a mess! Harvesting the potato towers are on my to-do list for next week. I’ll post the results as soon as I do.

I purchased some chicken wire and plan on securing it to the top if the chicken run this week. I want to make sure that when I put our baby chicks out there the coons can’t get in.

The pumpkin patch is hanging in there. We don’t have as many pumpkins this year, but we’ll have enough for the kids and the front porch.

The raspberry patch. Yep, it still needs to be weeded. Maybe this week… or maybe not. 😉
