Last night we opened a bunch of boxes for our Send in the Gnomes fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital {you can see all the gnomes that have been sent in HERE}. Imagine our surprise when we found a shellacked Mavis gnome rock inside one of the boxes. ๐ ๐ ๐
Yep, Eve from Phoenix, Arizona sent it in. We couldn’t stop giggling and the HH was mighty impressed with Eve’s shellacking skills. I mean it’s not everyday you come across someone who knows how to get a piece of printer paper to stick to a rock without any air bubbles.
We LOVE it Eve!
I’m not sure where your gnome rock will end up on our Epic Seattle to Memphis road trip {we may just have to show it off at a truck stop or two along the way} but thank you {and everyone else} for your support!
This fundraiser has been so much fun and we can’t wait to take everyone along {virtually} on our epic road trip to St. Jude.
Giving back is cool!

So glad you enjoyed it! The secret to getting that paper to not smear of have bubbles is a technique that very few crafters know. Use clear spray on both the front & back of the printed page, several coats; then glue on to the rock (LET IT DRY for several days) and then start the varnishing, I have to thank my DH (Darling Husband) for the assistance!
