I stopped by Albertsons to pick up my pre-order of 45 Schick Razors today.
This is what my transaction looked like:
45 Schick Razors @ $1.59 each = $61.97
2 {3lb} Bags Albertsons Chicken Breasts @ $4.99 each = $7.98
2 Gallons of Albertsons Milk @ $2.19 each = $4.38
2.02lb Bananas @ $.69 lb = $1.39
1 Bag Meyer Lemons @ 2.49 a bag = $2.49
Used 45 $2/1 Schick Razors 1/8/12 SS coupons
Final Price $6.01 {tax}
I somehow managed to get the EXACT AMOUNT of bananas {down to the ounce} I needed to get my subtotal to $0 before tax. As you can see on the receipt my groceries were totally FREE. I only had to pay tax on the razors. Hot.Diggety.Dog.
Now that is what I call using overage to your advantage!

Good. Now I know who to go to if I ever decide to shave this winter fur!

If you told me you could eat for free off of razors before I got into couponing, I would have thought you were out of your mind! Love that you bought lemons because I know there’s a yummy recipe to try in my future 🙂 BTW, what day do you place your order by to ensure that you get them in for any doubles that next weekend?

Hi Heather,
If I had to guess I would say every store is different. I will typically place my order Wed or Thursday if I know doublers are coming. I think the cut off for my store is Friday morning. Since Albertsons Doublers typically run on a 2 week cycle {near the 1st and 15th of the month}. 🙂 I hope that helps. If in doubt just ask your grocery manager what the cut off date is to order for your particular store.

I shop at Albertsons too, but I never see this razor deal that you seem to get week after week. What am I doing wrong?

The 5- pack of Schick razors can be found in the travel section. They are $1.59 each. 🙂
