Well hello there,
How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun? Did you score any super fantastic deals at the grocery store or the Farmer’s Market? I thought I did a pretty job buying groceries last week. I netted some awesome deals, but most of all I was excited about coming in under my $25 a week budget. I’m going to need to do that a few more times if I am going to stay on track with my whole one hundred dollars a month food challenge for this year.
Here is what I purchased
Albertsons $7.58
Milk is on sale this week for $2.29 a gallon {I think I need to go back and grab some more} and as I was walking towards the dairy case I noticed Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls were marked down to $1 each. Hot diggety! The kids were excited.
Albertsons $1.50
Some nice person left a $1/2 Hormel Chili Coupon next to the product. I love when that happens.
A barter with Chino the Handyman
3 Pounds of ground meat for 4 pain in the neck chickens. Sounds like a deal to me.
Albertsons $.49
I am really excited to try this pasta! The vinegar was on sale for $1 and I used a $1 off Everyday Essentials coupon from the Albertsons coupon booklet to get it for free. The pasta was priced at $4.49 each and on sale for B1G1 FREE. I won {2} $2 cash tickets from the Albertsons Summer Sizzlin’ Sweepstakes. I cashed in the tickets and used the earnings to buy the pasta.
Albertsons $6.99
The Handsome Husband wanted bbq last night so I had to run to the store and pick up some chicken. I paid full price.
Double coupons are pretty stinkin’ awesome if you ask me. You can read more about this transaction HERE.
Albertsons $1.00
The Awesome paper towels were FREE with the $1/1 Everyday Essentials coupon from the Albertsons coupon booklet, I won a free bagel with the Albertsons Summer Sizzlin’ Sweepstakes, and the Tropicana Orange Juice was $3.00. I doubled the $1 catalina coupon from the above transaction and only had to pay $1 for the orange juice. Saweeet!
Total Spent This Week $17.66
Total Spent This Year $630.78
Total Spent This Year on Garden Seeds/Supplies $451.12
Total “Seed Money” donations received $8.00

Looking for a shopping cart? Amazon currently has the Step2 Little Helper’s Grocery Cart on sale for $34.97 shipped. This is a really nice and sturdy shopping cart. I have purchased this cart before as a gift before and stuffed it with crackers and healthy snacks and given it as a gift before.

’twas a great Albies weekend for sure. I got the hummus….24 dressings…Red Baron pizza was BOGO and I used 2 coupons that I doubled making them $1.40 each….I did the Suave body washes for 17-cents each….the milk – I am in Idaho so we have that milk coupon which made it 69-cents a gallon. Tried to do the Hawaiian rolls after I saw them in your pic at Coupon Connections, but they weren’t $2 at my store…so I doubled and got them free at Walmart. I had some CATs for $1.50 off plastic bags and they had the store brand on BOGO so I got a bunch of those for free…and and and….more stuff. Great weekend.
I’m working on a little barter action too. I have a bunch of free baby things that I bought with doublers along the way – like wipes and some other things – and our garden is not your garden at all…but I know someone whose is, so I’mma see what she’ll trade me for 🙂
Have a great week, Miss Mavis!

Good job LaToya! Bartering is awesome! Take a picture of your bartering deal and send it to me {what you traded and what you got} and I’ll try and get it posted. 🙂

YOu are my Albertson’s hero! Most of what you posted was items we could eat! Being gluten-free (and just going dairy-free) I am starting to wonder what CAN I eat? 😛
Salad dressing will definitely come in handy around here. 😉

I’m so excited to tell you about my latest barter. My neighbor lady came over two days ago and saw the 30 jars of mayo in my pantry. She told me how she was a best foods anon also. Then yesterday my garage door broke. The repair man said it would be $68.00 a hour to fix. I said no thank you 🙂 Today I took my neighbor lady and her handy husband 10 bottles of mayo, yeast packets, and sugar. Yeah garage door fixed for under $5.00. Thanks for the inspiration.

Dang! I didn’t know that Homelife and Essential Everyday were the same brand!! I bought 10 rolls for $5 (still not a bad deal) but could have saved more! I knew that you could use the EE coupon on an Albertsons item but didn’t know that about the homelife stuff. Is there any other brands you can use it on? Like “Shoppers Valu” or anything else?
You are so awesome BTW!! 🙂
Mavis says
Hmmm. I don’t know but if you find out let me know

Your Albertson’s trips are awesome. How do you get so many doubler coupons do you get that many papers, or has Albertson’s started carrying them in the store again? I stopped doubler couponing when they stopped having them at customer service 🙁
