My goals for 2017
Get 7- 8 Hours of Sleep Each Night
Yep. I’m doing a marvelous job of this! 🙂 Sleep makes me happy.
Make Saving a Priority, Not an Idea
The HH and I are making good progress on paying down the mortage {we are about 9+ years ahead of schedule} and looking forward to having the sucker paid off. Right now we are saving up for our next east coast adventure {with a Red Sox game on the agenda}. Goals are so cool. I don’t know what I’d do without them.
Live a little
I’ve been wanting to get a new pair of “everyday shoes” for a while now so I bought a pair of these since they were on sale today. Now I just have to keep them clean. 😉
Visit 52 REAL Bakeries
A cup of Earl grey tea and a lemon tart. It’s pretty much my favorite combination. This is by far the funnest goal I have ever made. It sure beats running a marathon or decluttering that’s for sure.
Have 1 “no spend” week each month
I kid you not, I have not left the house since last Saturday {April 15th}. I think I might today though, but only because I need to get some straw. But then again I suppose it can wait. We’ll see.
Start a Line of Rug Hooking Patterns
I listed my 5th rug hooking pattern on Etsy the other day. I loved the way it turned out so much that I hooked 2 samples. It’s another smaller rug, perfect for beginners.
Turn My Wool Stash into $2,500Â Goal accomplished.
I sold $182.97 worth of goodies in my Etsy and Ebay shops last week. That brings my total to $2858.07 for the year so far. This week I’ll be working on two pillows {both future patterns}.
Play in The Dirt
It was a wonderful week to hang out in the garden… I shared some pictures over on Dig for Your Dinner this morning if you’d like to take a look.
Purge 250 Items Including Selling Larger Items We No Longer Feel We Need
This week I found set aside a bag of mini condiment jars, a t-shirt, yarn, hook, Christmas ornaments and a mini greenhouse for this summers yard sale. So far I’ve purged 95 items this year. Only 155 to go!
Learn to Crochet Goal accomplished
Dote on My Husband Even More Than I Do Now.
The HH worked 6 days this past week so it was pretty hard to be able to dot on him but hopefully we can spend some time together this week.
Lose the Muffin Top. {again}
I’m working on it.
Wear out {most of} the clothing I already own.
Somedays I care that I don’t have any cool clothes and then other days I wish I had a whole new wardrobe. But then I have to remind myself I am not the type to spend a fortune not even a small one {or time} searching for just the right thing. I think clothing shopping is exhausting and I wish I had a better attitude about it. 😉 I guess in the end… we make an effort for the things we truly care about. And clearly, I don’t care about what I wear. Blah blah blah.
Try 52 New Recipes
I made a frittata this week! And the HH loved it. 🙂 I’ll share the recipe soon.
Read 52 Books
This week I listened to On Turpentine Lane on audiobook. I almost gave up on it a couple of times in the beginning because the boyfriend was an awful character and I was tired of hearing about him. But since it was an audiobook I just let it play while I was working in the kitchen or on my rugs. Overall I’d give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Good morning from Falkland BC Canada , to help keep your keds nice and clean spray them with spray/laundry starch, my mom did that with all our canvas shoes, she did handbags, outdoor furnature, it helps protect and keep them clean, there are many things you can use fabric starch on in stead of just ironing . Hapoy Sunday 🙂

We surprised ourselves by saving enough to be ready to fund 4/5 of my husband’s 2017 Roth already, as well as the $3000 in a sinking fund that will cover 50% of next year HVAC replacement.

Can you explain how you know how to figure out how many years you are cutting off your mortgage? I am looking and putting a lump sum on the principle of ours to knock some years off and am trying to figure it out also. Thanks!
