Lucy the puggle dog and I took the week off from organizing this week.
2. Run, walk or crawl a Marathon, half marathon, 10k, and 5k race this year.
My friend and I signed up for a 5k race! So I guess I WILL be racing this year after all. Well, if you can call fast walking, and sporadic jogging racing. We were neighbors over 10 years ago and for some strange reason when one of us decides to do a race we call the other one up, {almost always with zero training} throw on some shoes and have a blast. It’s always fun to catch up on how are families are doing.
3. Remodel our Master Bathroom, Master Closet and Monkey Boy’s Bathroom. Done!
4. Finish Every Room in Our House.
I finally got around to hanging up the curtains in the family room {we had them hanging in our bedroom in our last house} and let me tell you Bob, the room looks much better. It’s not done yet, but at least the room is starting to come together. I’m hoping to find a coffee table and an end table this summer at a garage sale and maybe some stuff for the walls.
5. Turn Spare Bedroom into a Cozy Home Office Space for myself. I am currently working out of the HH’s office and he wants it back {even though all that’s in there is a desk and chair}.
6. Create a Vegetable Garden.
I’m on it! 🙂
7. Build a Path into the Hillside for Easy Access to the Upper Garden. We built a fence instead!
8. Limit my personal spending to $100 a month.
SO far in June I haven’t bought a single thing for myself. Last weekend I did hit up a couple of garage sales though and scored some ruby red Dansko shoes for $5 {and a few other things}.
In May I spent $26.50.
In April I Spent $18.46.
In March I Spent $42.44.
In February I Spent $32.52
In January I Spent $84.33
9. Purge… Weekly.
I found more goodies to sell at the neighborhood garage sale next month!
10. Read 1 book a week.
I started reading The Nesting Place: It Doesn’t Have to Be Perfect to Be Beautiful this week and I was more than a little surprised. I thought this was going to be a book filled with mostly glossy photos and I hesitated to even pick it up. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the pages and it read like a good book with real life stories and failures and and lessons learned. I’m about halfway through it right now and LOVE it!
11. Slow Down.
I don’t think this will be a problem this month. Ha! I plan on squeezing in some extra movie and rug hooking time.
12. Canning
Strawberry season is EARLY this year! Yesterday The Girl and I stopped by Spooner Farms and bought a boat load of farm fresh strawberries. We’ve been getting our strawberries there for over 15 years now. They are simply the best berries on the planet. Oh, and I made a few jars or strawberry jam too.
Note to self: don’t make jam when you are hungry. You’ll make too much.
Did you set any goals for this year? If so, how are they coming along?

I bet you’ll meet a lot of neighbors at the garage sale. Maybe you can swap some HOA Nazi stories. lol
