Snow {or was it the Handsome Husband} forced me to stay home for 3 full days last week. Word on the street is Mavis is a bad driver. So it only seemed natural the HH would put me on house arrest until the snow melted… Or at least turned to slush. By the time Saturday afternoon rolled around I was finally able to put the pedal to the metal and go shopping. Here is what I came home with:
Albertsons $2.77 {I used my $12 Catalina coupons from last week}
Albertsons $6.01 {Free groceries but I did have to pay tax on the razors}
Amazon/Swagbucks $ FREE
Local Produce Stand $5.00
Fred Meyer $2.79 {Turkey from the deli}
Panera $ FREE {Christmas Gift Card}
Target $1.98 {2 boxes of Tazo Tea}.
The best part about feeding my family for an average of $100 a month is the variety of food we eat. Some weeks I bring home a ton of food, other weeks I shop from our pantry and some weeks we even go a little crazy and eat seasonal delicacies.
Yes, eating on a budget can be a challenge, but as long as you can be creative in the kitchen and be open to trying new recipes, everything will work out in the end.
So Mavis wants to know… What was YOUR FAVORITE PURCHASE this week?
Total Spent This Week $18.55
Total Spent This Year $120.25
Total Spent on Garden Seeds/Supplies $38.11 {Still waiting for my special seed order but I did buy soil, trays and a few seeds from Home Depot}.
