November 26th is National Cake Day, which means cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s the rules, you’re just not celebrating the holiday effectively if you toss in any other food. When I first saw that cake day was coming up, I kept thinking about Marie Antoinette’s famous quote, “Let them eat cake!” {Did you know this was her response when she found out the peasants had no bread to eat during the height of a famine?} Wouldn’t you love to go back in time and just witness that statement? Was it taken out of context or was she really that ignorant? Okay, I digress…let’s get back to actually eating cake in a time of plenty, that’s a much more comfortable topic.
Before you go out celebrating cake day with reckless abandon, I thought I’d give you a couple of my favorite recipes to consider:
The Best Chocolate Cake on the Planet Earth
Upside Down Pear-Gingerbread Cake
My Favorite Carrot Cake of All Time
Single Serving Microwave Chocolate Cake
Seriously, with so many choices, it really should be extended to cake week, don’t you think?
Now what are you waiting for? Get out there and celebrate!
