Last week was pretty spectacular… and busy! I totally went over budget and went a little crazy at the stores but the deals were so good and the samples. Oh the samples were pretty delicious too. 😉
Here’s what I bought this past week:
Barter with Mrs. HB
Someone gave me something a while back and I traded Mrs. HB for some delicious produce and fancy cheese last week. She wanted me to tell you this was VERY early in the morning and that’s why she is wearing her bathrobe. {Note full sunlight happening in the background} Ya, okay. Whatever. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Fred Meyer {Trip #1} $19.08
I truly thought I would stay away from the grocery stores with this being the busiest time of year but because I am a super nerd I showed up right when the doors opened and was in and out within 10 minutes. With only stockers and about 5 other customers in the store it was pure bliss.
Butter $2 a pound, Milk $1, Ghirardelli chocolate chips $1.50 a bag, tuna $0.25 a can. Friday freebie yogurt and some other odds and ends rounded out a successful and stress free trip.
Fred Meyer {Trip #2} $8.00
So maybe, just maybe I put the groceries from trip #1 into my car and them marched right back into Fred Meyer and bought a few more items that had a limits on them. 😉 Tuna. For $0.25 a can. HOW CAN YOU NOT STOCK UP?!
Albertsons $9.98
If you can resist a 2pound loaf of Tillamoooo cheese for $4.99 then you are weird. Or, maybe you just have enough in your fridge already.
Costco $59.95
To celebrate me GETTING A JOB… and The Grand Tour, The Girl and I stopped by Costco on Friday afternoon and picked up some supplies for a nice party platter.
It was a little hectic this week running around and trying to get ready for my first real job in 20+ years so I didn’t take my usual photos of every meal I made but here are some of the things I ate/prepared this past week:
Lunch for my first day. Maybe I shouldn’t pack tuna sandwiches and hard boiled eggs in my lunch anymore. Or, I suppose I could just bring a breath mint. 😉
I made a bunch of meals ahead of time so I didn’t have to cook when I got home. I assumed I’d be too tired to cook {I was} so every main dish I made I doubled the batch and tossed the extra one in the freezer. Pretty clever eh?
Tuna casserole, lasagna, salmon cakes, pork fried rice. You know, good stuff.
Salmon cakes rock and are so easy to make. Anyone want the recipe?
Cookies and nutella banana muffins anyone?
Split pea and ham soup.
Coffee with Mrs. HB.
We also stopped by my parents.
You know, to deliver some food. 😉 Split pea soup, a homemade chicken pot pie, cookies and a salmon filet.
And then they took us out to lunch. 🙂
My life, it’s crazy busy again and I AM LOVING IT!
