Had bread not been on sale last week at Fred Meyer, I probably wouldn’t have even gone to the grocery store. As I’ve mentioned before, this time of year is hard for me. The stores are ALWAYS packed and unless I can get to the grocery store before 7 am, I don’t dare walk in.
A few of you mentioned I should pop by Costco a half an hour before closing, but even then, it’s still pretty chaotic this time of year. Plus, there is too much stuff there to be tempted with. So I’ve pretty much decided to just avoid the grocery stores until after the holidays unless I ABSOLUTELY need something… like milk. Maybe I’m weird, but whateva.
I think I’ll clean out/organize our fridge and freezer this week and see what I can make over the next 8 weeks…. that will keep me motivated to stay away from the stores. I know it will.
Fred Meyer $6.97
Seriously. At $0.99 a loaf for Dave’s Killer bread, I should have gone back for more. But it seemed kind of silly to make a special trip just to stock up on bread. But man, is it ever good.
