You, me and pretty much the rest of the country have all made resolutions to eat healthier this year. Even if you didn’t you should totally try this oatmeal anyway. It’s worth it. And good for you. And delicious. I’ve added a lot of different things to my oatmeal through the years but peanut butter is a first for me. It really makes the oatmeal. Looks like it’s a breakfast-for-lunch-too kind of day.
Ingredients
1 1/4 cups milk {I used 2%}
2 bananas {smallish ones}, mashed
1 cup old fashioned oats
3 tablespoons peanut butter
2 teaspoons brown sugar, packed {can add more if you want it sweeter or none if you prefer}
Directions
In a large saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the milk and bananas until they bubble. Slowly stir in the oats. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter and brown sugar. Serve piping hot.

This sounds good! When I was growing up, we would sometimes put peanut butter on our hot cereal.

I make a microwave version of this often. I cook in the micro old fashioned oats and water for about 90 sec and then stire in a T of PB and a small banana sliced. I have gotten used to oatmeal not being so sweet. My other favorite combo is dried cranberries and almond butter…yum!

This sounds delicious! Peanut butter is THE must-have in my life. I will have to try this one for breakfast in the morning rather than my regular package oatmeal.
